Failed Sump Pump
Without a working sump pump, the excess water from a major storm will begin to gather at the lowest point of your home. That point could be the foundation, crawlspace or for this homeowner, in the basement. No matter where the water settles, it will begin to cause rot and lead to mold growth.
As you can see in the before photo, the homeowner’s previous pad and carpet had to be removed, as well as 2 feet of drywall in over half of the basement. Air movers also had to be placed to absorb any remaining water.
In the after picture, you can see that new pad and carpet has been laid and the drywall has been replaced and given a fresh coat of paint.
